The new 2020 Hyundai Palisade is not the first three-row SUV from Hyundai. However, the new SUV has got tons of potential to shake up the mid-size SUV market. Let’s take a look at the new 2020 Hyundai Palisade and see what it has to offer.

Trim Lines

The 2020 Hyundai Palisade is offered in three trims: SE, SEL and Limited Edition. The starting MSRP of the base model is $31,550 while the SEL and Limited edition are priced $33,500 and $44,700 respectively.

Engine, Transmission and Fuel Economy

All trim models of the Hyundai Palisade have the same engine: a 3.8-liter V6 engine generating 291 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. of torque. The Palisade comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC paddle shifters. With SHIFTRONIC activated, the driver just needs to press “+” on the paddle shifter to upshift and press “-” on the paddle shifter to downshift. The SHIFTRONIC system can be useful to drive safely when the weather gets rough.

The V6 engine offers a fuel economy of 19 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway. Front-wheel drive is standard on Palisade, and all-wheel-drive is an option. Also, the all-wheel-drive makes the Palisade a highly capable performer on all types of terrain. The SUV is equipped with Intelligent Drive Modes system that automatically redistributes wheel traction based on road conditions. The drive mode selector dial allows the driver to customize the drive traction quickly.

The interior of Palisade is crafted with the finest materials for maximum passenger comfort.  It can seat up to eight adults comfortably in its three seating rows. The SUV has heated and ventilated seats that are wrapped with available Nappa leather. The cabin wraps you in ultimate luxury no matter where you are seated in the Palisade. The second-row has good legroom to stretch out, and you also have captain’s chairs option that can further the luxury experience. The dual-panel sunroof brightens the interior and creates a sort of romantic ambiance.

The car has three-zone climate control, and the innovative rear air vents keep the air flowing up to the third-row. An in-car intercom system is also provided to communicate with the passengers in the second and third rows. The rear-seat Quiet mode switches off the speakers in the third row and ensures the music does not disturb passengers who are sleeping.

The base model comes with an eight-inch touch-screen display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. The SUV also has Bluetooth hands-free phone system with voice recognition. The Limited model gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation system, Harman/Kardon premium audio system with 12 speakers, BlueLink connected vehicle system and In-car intercom with Driver Talk.

Security and Safety

The Palisade comes with safety features like seven standard airbags including driver’s knee airbag and adaptive cruise control with a traffic stop and go. Also, it is integrated with a Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Following Assist and High Beam Assist. Features like blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist and blind view monitor are offered as an option.

If you look at the other SUVs available in the category, the Palisade is the best medium-sized three-row SUV out there.
